Operating Procedures for Leveling Machines

Leveling machine operators must receive professional training, hold valid certification before operating the equipment, and correctly use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Before use, inspect the equipment in accordance with the equipment inspection checklist.

Once the equipment inspection meets all requirements, start the leveling machine.

Based on the deformation level, thickness, and material of the steel plate being processed, set the corresponding parameters on the industrial control computer.

Before calibration, first adjust the roll gap (opening amount). An upward adjustment is a positive gap, and a downward adjustment is a negative gap. Set the digital display to "±0" at the "0" position. When adjusting the work roll gap, it is strictly prohibited to apply load while pressing down.

When feeding the steel plate, it must enter from the center of the leveling machine. The plate must not be tilted, so as to avoid damaging the machine.

During plate leveling, the machine should ideally complete the process in a single pass without stopping. If the plate becomes jammed and causes the machine to stall, press the main machine stop or reverse button to retract the steel plate. It is strictly prohibited to operate the buttons controlling the movable beam.

After a steel plate of the same specification passes leveling successfully, save the parameter values for future leveling operations.

If waviness appears on the steel plate during leveling, it indicates that the work roll reduction is too excessive. Adjust by raising the upper work rolls.

Keep the equipment clean at all times. After use, wipe clean all rollers, worktables, cover plates, and housings, then apply lubricating oil. Apply oil to the roller surfaces, and lubricate the chains every 30–50 working hours to prevent rust and avoid affecting normal machine operation.

After leveling machine work is completed, the power supply must be cut off and the equipment must be thoroughly cleaned.
